The one number that decides everything: TDS
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) is measured in ppm — parts per million. It tells you how much dissolved material is in your water and which purification technology you actually need. Buying the wrong type wastes money, and can even strip healthy minerals.
Below 200 ppm
UV / UF is usually enough. RO may not be needed — don't over-spend.
200-500 ppm
Ideal drinking range. UV+UF keeps it safe without removing good minerals.
500-2000 ppm

Umangot Water Purifier FAQ
Filters typically need replacement every 9 to 12 months, depending on your daily water usage and the input water quality. A choked filter reduces flow and can damage the RO membrane.
Standard RO purification reduces all dissolved solids, including beneficial minerals. However, modern Aquaguard purifiers come with Active Copper or Mineral Guard technology that retains or replenishes essential minerals like calcium and magnesium.
A drop in water flow usually indicates that the sediment or carbon pre-filters are choked, or the RO membrane is scaling up. Schedule a service visit so we can test the pressure and filters.
